“Salty Dolls” – Eastern Shore Go Go Boots
Help stomp out cancer with ~
The preferred work boot of Virginia’s Eastern Shore Watermen, have now become the canvas for a playful new designer line of seaside savvy boots, that boast one of a kind original paintings, produced and donated by local Eastern Shore artists, in an effort to help raise funds for stomping out cancer.
The idea of “Salty Dolls” was created as a unique
Eastern Shore “fun”- raising item, targeted to be auctioned
off at a local annual seafood gala for this worthy cause. This successful
fund-raising event for the American Cancer Society, is hosted by John
West and his daughter Cheli, and is held each spring along the
harbor
in the quaint seaside village of Oyster, Virginia. It has become notorious,
not only for its incredible selection of the areas best seafood, popular
local entertainers, quality auction items and all around fun, but also
notorious for repeatedly attracting some of the worse weather possible.
Boot wearing weather! Certainly sets the stage for being the perfect
venue for launching “Salty Dolls” footwear.
Driven by the spirit of the cause, “Salty Dolls” could become a new fashion statement here on the Eastern Shore, branded as a one of a kind, signature item for this event, all the while helping in the effort to stomp out the dreaded disease of cancer.
While
the first year's editions of "Salty Dolls" were
snapped up at John and Cheli's seafood fundraiser in 2007, you can still
